How to treat dry itchy skin

The symptoms of dry skin are redness, flaking and itchiness and it looks very ugly. In order to get rid of this, one should start using mild soaps, to protect the skins natural oils.
Avoid bathing in hot water as it dehydrates the skin, instead use lukewarm or cold water.
After bath, apply moisturizers to your skin as it helps to trap water in the surface cell. You will feel your skin soft and smooth.
A paste of oatmeal and water, applied to the affected part helps in reducing itchiness.
Daily application of almond oil, olive oil, avocado oil or jojoba oil, vitamin E oil keeps the skin moist as it penetrates deep into the skin.
A mixture of milk cream, pinch of turmeric powder with ½ spoon honey helps to get rid of red patches on your skin.
Aloe Vera helps to remove dead skin cells and it sooths, heals and moisturises the skin.
An anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal quality of lemon juice also helps in reducing itchiness.
Every week, exfoliate your skin to remove flaky skin.
Have fish oil pills as it contains omega 3 fatty acids, which is needed for healthy skin.
